20140503 Glengorm Castle Walk

Saturday found us making our way to Glengorm Castle on the north short of the Isle of Mull.  It's now a B&B and event site, so is off-limits, but also features a wonderful cafe and food shop (Finn Crisp? Yup.) and cross-country walks to the sea through sheep pastures in every direction.

(Stolen from their website)

The estate features a circle of standing stones, and I still don't know why they're there, but they're very eerie and cool.

We walked for hours because it was so easy and stunning.  Sheep and lambs everywhere, a good day's fix for me.

Where's Waldo?  Allen?

Day's end reward was a tour of the in-town Tobermory Distillery, where Ledich (higher-end, peaty) and Tobermory whiskeys are produced.  Small world - all the barley leftovers are fed to the cows at the Isle of Mull cheese farm.
